Leeds United


Background

Following the completion of a competitive tender process, NIC was awarded the business to provide cleaning & support services at Elland Road stadium. The stadium is home to Leeds United Football Club and has a capacity of 38,000. This award was on the basis of a strong pitch based around a commitment to a hands on management approach, consistently delivered standards and a great working relationship with the client.


The Challenge

The site is a complex one, hosting football matches with attendances up to 38,000, a busy retail shop open 7 days per week, a large events space with over 50 suites which is used on a daily basis and several office areas. In addition to the football matches, Elland Road hosts many events and required a facilities company with a flexible approach to their requirements. When necessary NIC provide extra resource, especially at the busy periods of the year such as Christmas when events are back to back requiring a very fast turn-around. The NIC team have been trained to the highest standard and fully understand this fast paced environment and can adapt and overcome any challenges they may face.


Outcome

From day one NIC have taken a hands on approach to managing the site with a Key Mobilisation team employed to implement change and innovation and deliver an instant improvement in standards. We have introduced state of the art cleaning machines, coupled with the latest in cleaning specifications. This has helped motivate the team and bring standards to an exceptionally high level.

Leeds United have recognised the hard work and close working relationship NIC have with their team and on the back of this NIC were awarded further business including the training centre at Thorp Arch and the provision of consumable supplies.
